  • explanation premier league?

ive been playing this league since this month was very excited and looked into the structure before the month march,

the premier league puts the strong consistent players in 1 group where they have either been promoted from the open league or the qualifier league.

basically what i find the most frustrating change is the starting stack why does it have to be 2500 and not 1500 like the other leagues? allready extending the time levels but also increasing the starting stack are 2 points used to extend the tourney time it seems.

i wonder why? i cant find out why so i would just like to ask/hear/discuss

A larger starting stack and a slower blind structure both increase the skill factor and decrease the influence of luck on your result. The larger stack size also brings more deep stack play into the game and gives those skills more influence on the results.

I agree with Doug. The deeper the stacks are and the longer the levels, the more player's skills will prevail and the less that a tourney will turn into a bingo type situation.

A prime example is a two-day tourney that I'm going to play live next month. 20k starting stack with 40 minute levels. While you do still need to get some cards, skill will play much more into it than a turbo tourney that turns into a shovefest.

i acctually dont see the difference in a turbo tourney or a regular tourney espcially in this skill league where most players play tight and eventually everyone has 10BB stacks just like in the turbos, the difference is it takes longer thats my experience with it so far its a fact where regular games decrease the luck slightly but suckouts come and go in the same way.
but its turbo players qualifying into regular games just thought that was a bit odd.

im not a big fan of sitting more then 4 hours in 1 game im sure if it were a live event i could entertain myself more.

i do hope to see games in a turbo structure in the future im sure ill get better results in those in the long run then these regular formats .

anyway thanks for the input id like to leave the topic open a bit more longer for a day or 2 if thats alright.
