  • PSO Open Skill League Strategy(help needed)

Hi every one I decided to try to play in the PSO Open Skill League this month.

Does anyone have some good strategies or advice?

Since its based on points and how far you get in the tournament should I be playing it the same as I would any other tournament?

Hi pokerstar671, It is nice hear that you are going to take up the challenge of the PSO Open Skill League this month.umbup: I'd like to wish you all the best of luck. I suggest that watch the replays of the Live Training videos about tournament play by our PSO trainers, The Langolier, ahar010, 19honu62 and Felix. When i first starting playing in the Open Skill League i found their training videos very helpful for my game and i do believe you would also find them very helpful.umbup: Just click the link below and it will redirect you to the main page for videos, then scroll down to the bottom and there you will see all the available videos of our PSO trainers The Langolier, ahar010, 19honu62 and Felix.. http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/articles/Video-Content Good luck in the Open Skill League, CannonLee

          Hi 671,

I will give you some advice which is maybe a little bit contradictory to what Cannon is saying but it has proven to be a winning strategy for the Open League.

Your goal is to gain as many points or lose as few as possible consistently throughout the month. The best way to achieve this is a burn and fold strategy and only playing your premium hands aggressively, and by premium hands I mean 10's thru As. Burning the clock means taking the maximum time allowable to play each hand, but not running down you clock completely. The only time I would run down the clock completely is when I am committed to going all in.

The fact is that the attrition rate is so great in the Open league that this time you are
          wasting
is gaining you more points and in the Open League points mean prizes not finishing first in one tournament.

It can be a very frustrating way to play poker, to your opponents as well as yourself, but it will help you a great deal with patience and achieving the goal of maximum points.

I would recommend giving it a try and if you have any questions just pop them on here or drop me a PM.

          Cheers,

          TC

When you reach the final table - then you are definitely good to stop burn/folding.
