The Sands Hotel and Casino is located in the midtown area off the boardwalk. To enter from the boardwalk you have to walk/ride down a covered walkway that is a one way people mover like you would see in an airport. To get back to the boardwalk you have to go outside and walk a few blocks to the boardwalk. The poker room , non-smoking, is located on the 4th floor and is combined with the sports book and blackjack tables. When I was there the blackjack tables were not in service. This room is a cozy small room with 5 tables and features low limit Holdem and Stud. There is a tournament schedule for NL HE:
Tournament Schedule: Wednesday and Thursday 2pm NL HE $20+$10 unlimited rebuys with one add-on after 1hr.
There is no comp or room rate. There is a small waiting area with 10 or so seats and the room is staffed by three people. This is probably the smallest poker operation in AC. I didn't have time to wait for a seat so I didn't actually play here. The tournaments start at an unusual time 2pm which might be nice for anyone wanting to play a small tournament in the afternoon. This room impressed me as being an afterthought with no real commitment to the poker craze. The staff were very friendly almost hungry for someone to talk to. It's a nice quiet place but there may be better places to play for the serious player.
