  • New to live and real $$, need advice

I'm looking for a bit of advice for a first time casino player. I plan on playing $1/2 NL Hold Em at Foxwoods Casino in CT sometime soon. I will be going with around $200. It should be a fun trip and one of my first real money games. I am aware that my inexperience with real $$ and live play in general will put me at a disadvantage and I am in real danger of losing most or all of my money. I am ok with losing my money for the experience I will gain, plus like I said I am going just too have some fun. That being said, I do not plan on walking in there and playing bad poker and lighting my money on fire. I have been playing a lot of play money games and would play real money online if I could (#US Resident). None of my friends play poker so home games are out. I am tired of playing people who don't respect the the game because it is not real money. I did see that Dave has a video section that seems to be exactly what I am looking for but those videos are not working at this time. If anyone can give me an idea of what to expect when I sit down at the table. I would love any advice at all form buying chips to average play from $1/2 casino players. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ninerrrr!

Dave and Dave will be able to give some info on NL cash tables. Take a peek at my post in this thread (post # 2). Most of this will apply to cash games, as well as live tourneys.
