  • Poker Rooms- Reno\Tahoe

Going to Reno next month and I'm wondering where the best room is for low limit stud\hold em games. The Atlantis Casino is claiming that it has the 3rd largest room in the country but I've never played there. Any replies apprectiated !

i find the side action in Reno is awful...i usually just go up there for occassional tournies. i dont think atlantis' spreads many games at all. I know El Dorado spreads mostly low limit the time i was there, they had 4 3-6 games going and nothing else, even on a list. Cal Neva is a real dump, but i think they got low liimt games as well. i have stayed at the atlantis before and it's a pretty decent hotel...the white chocolate has been melted...

Sorry I didn't see your post til now..hope it isn't too late for input.

I have played poker many times in Reno. I prefer the poker room at the El Dorado. They have friendly and efficent dealers, and they really do go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They spread 4-8 Hold'em, and sometimes, they have a half kill...which makes it go to 6-12. ( I think I am right on these limits.) They also generally have a low limit stud game going. I think it is 1-5.

I have also played at the Circus Circus. They have a little NLHE tourney every morning that costs $17 to buy in. It goes for an hour and pays two spots. It is alot of fun. They also have decent low limit games.

I have not played at the Atlantis, but when I was in Reno in August, I called them and they had no games going. Go figure.

Hope you have a super time...and hope this isn't too late.

I live in Sacramento, and usually only play tournaments in Reno.
But many locals, and a few pros that live in Reno have said the Peppermill is the best place to play in general.

The room rates are reasonable too.

S.Lake Tahoe, Harvey's has the only poker room, the limits are small and usually just TH and 7stud.

I haven't played at N.Lake Tahoe, so can't give any input.
