  • Ok badbeat story

then it's off to bed you go.

It was in Tunica on a Sunday evening...
Poker tables almost everywhere were filled and
    the waiting list was long.

Joybell and I were finally called to a 3-6 holdem
table at the Gold Strike and found, to our
surprise and delight, Kaeleine and Idoru99 sitting
side by side at the very table we were joining.

In time, conversation turned to appetite and
we all agreed it was time to eat. The cards continued
to fly and after awhile Idoru and Kaeleine decided
they could wait no longer. Joybell would make
"third man walking" so Idoru and Kaeleine decided they'd
pick up their chips, revisit the list, kick back and
totally enjoy their meal. Joybell's chips would stay on the table.

At about the same moment, a chair became available
at another 3-6 table. I passed on the dinner invite to move into the vacant chair. Joybell saw someone else leave
so moved her chips to my new table too. Unfortnately,
it was too late for Idoru and Kaeleine...their chairs
were filled again the moment their own butts exitted.

No big deal to them....hunger pangs took front and center stage. There I sat alone until Holdem 101 tapped me on the shoulder to ask how I was doing. Holdem doesn't gamble on
Sundays so he was in a socializing mode. We chatted, I folded, we chatted somemore...

When all of a sudden....out of nowhere came
much howling and screaming and clapping and cheer!

The badbeat had hit at the table so near..
indeed it was at the table where
Kaeleine and Idora and Joybell and me
    had sat just minutes ago.

Holdem jumped into Joybell's chair and put out
a chip from her stack. I was lost having had not a clue.
What was he doing and why was he seemingly making
a bet? It was Sunday and holdem does not gamble!!!!

Nice try said the dealer and all the players too..You're out
of the payoff so "fageddaboudit" Joybell would remain
penniless in spite of his attempt.

Seems anyone playing the same game (3-6) got a piece of
the Jackpot Badbeat winnings. Of the four PSO players
who spent the afternoon playing, I was the only one sitting
at the table when it hit. I collected $147.84 for doing absolutely nothing but being, for once, in the right place,
    at the right time.

When dinner ended, they all returned to the news....

    now that's a BAD BEAT!!!!!!

    The end.....good night!
