    Date: July 25th 2003

    Where: Online Poker/

    Subject: Midas touch playing poker

For the last two weeks I have been hopping from online site to online site playing to garner in the incentive money that is overlayed to get you to play so many raked hands and I have been steadily winning. I have won over 500 bucks in the last few weeks online and about the same in live casino games.

On Thursday I had a mylogram for my bad back and played some in the afternoon to experience my first losing session in about 2 weeks as I dropped about 50 bucks.

Friday, July 25th I played some online ring play and won about 75 bucks. The I entered a PartyPoker million sat and won it which qualified my for a semi final event on Sept 6th to try to win the 9,000 cruise package and WPT tourney which is televised and has a 500,000 1st place award. If that were the end of my day in poker, I would have been happy.

However, I then entered a 33 dollar multi tournament and finished 2nd place to win 1950 dollars. It was very cool as my wife and oldest daughter were sitting by the computer cheering me on to each higher finishing position.

To end the day I went to my once a month poker game that night and went down about 60 bucks within the first hour and battled back to go home winning 18 bucks!

So, this was my day, one earlier than my 57th birthday which is today. I give credit to my involvement in Pokerpages, my reading and examining the game of poker, my conversations with alot of you in the school, and the strength of attitude I draw upon with my belief in my Lord, Jesus Christ.

Today is my birthday and I am getting ready to play in a 10 dollar multi of about 400 people. I will try to duplicate my effort, but certainly no expectation as I find that is a healthy way to proceed in a long tournament. Go with the flow!

Anyway, thanks to all who have helped me progress as a poker player and I look forward to continuing the journey.

Take care and God bless you all,
    Jim aka jschanba

      Way to go!

Friday was also my best poker day ever -- which is to say my first winning day of online play for real money. Sandwiched between a couple of minor scalps in Limit HE $1-$2 at I managed to win 1st place in a 50-person Stud8 tourney at for just over $100.

I also played a few events at Bugsys, but the competition there was much tougher and, as of yet, no joy.

Anyway I am now sitting at slightly over even in real money online and B&M poker since I resumed playing. Now on to win back the $800 I dropped in college about 25 years ago.

      Thanks again to PSO!

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy!

I've been wondering why I haven't seen you in any sats lately. I was really missing taking your chips. Now I know! What a great story! Win a few more and you'll be able to afford the parochial school route!

I also recently have been dipping my toes into the real money side. Haven't gone positive yet, but have had a couple of good purses.

And as for your reference to JC, you obviously are one of the enlightened few that knows He would've played HE if it had been around!

For what it is worth, I have watched you play at the PSO ring games and you are a phenomenal player. I am sure you will continue to tear it up both here and at real money sites (and live games too).

I have not checked but I do belive you have ammassed a huge PSO bankroll by eating up us fishes at the 25/50 NLHE ring games.

Good Luck and Happy Birthday (belated)
