  • PHOENIX rocks..!

And I am not speaking of rocks as in guys who only play the nuts so to speak. But, I am speaking of PHOENIX baby. Just got home from a week of poker, baseball, and PSO'ers. What a great trip.

Started off Wednesday night with Trisail, Cardster, and JohnnyD. We joined up at the Ft.McDowell casino to play a little Side Pot Tourney...normal tourney, with the exception there were ten or so little jackpot hands available. 4 dueces, royals, etc. It was only $16 bucks to get in, and unlimited rebuys for the first hour of $3. And an add on. 6 tables. I never had much to write home about but managed to only have two rebuys and the add on. Total investment:
$28. Jump to a couple hands before the break. I look over at Trisail and he has like almost NO chips. I give him the frowny face...indicating I am sorry he hasn't had much luck. At the break, he comes over grinning at me, asking how I ended up. I told him, and then looked over and he had a HUGE stack. Guess the last hand before the break found him with quad jacks and lots of callers.

After the break, I played pretty aggressively. Big surprise, huh!! Trisail busted out right away after the break, and came over to my table and said: "Live with pocket Jacks, Die with pocket Jacks." Not long after, JohnnyD busted, and then, Cardster. Yours truly ended up finishing 9th!!!!! That paid a whopping $55, so after the $5 tip and my investment, I cleared $22. Hey, it ain't much, but it was more than the guys made, right??? LOL.

After the tourney finished, I joined the other PSO'ers in a rousing game of 3-6 hold'em with a full kill. WOOHOOOOO. When I sat down, it appeared to me that the Brothers Phoenix were stuck and complaining. WHAT, complaining you say???? CARDSTER and TRISAIL??? Say it ain't so!!! Well, I must have been their good luck charm, cause they both rebought a rack and in no time, had about accumulated all the chips on the table, including most of mine. Well, I think JohnnyD had left a bit after the BROTHERS PHOENIX had started their simultaneous rush...the guy who sat down beside him was blowing smoke on him..what a bummer.

Since the BROTHERS PHOENIX had been kind enough to give me a ride from my hotel, I felt the least I could do was donate most of my rack to their rush. Once I was about on the felt, they decided it was ok to rack up about 7 racks between them and leave. I am not sure, but I think I heard some clapping as we left the poker room...

Saturday night, Trisail and I met up with AZHARDBALLZ and PocketRocket at the Casino Arizona. This was my first time, and they say you never forget your first time. Aside from the extremely smokey atmosphere, I had a wonderful time playing 6-12 HE. AZ and Trisail were at my table...and aside from just having a blast, I only remember one hand and I will not post that in deference to my good buddy AZ. (However, Jeff, with 6 callers pre-flop, the chances of those aces holding up was slim to none ...) It was just great to see you guys again!

I returned on Monday night and played a little, but it wasn't the same without the guys from PSO. Once you have had those guys in your game, it just isn't the same anymore!

So, in summary: Four baseball games where my CUBBIES won ALL 4!!! ( one of those games with both Cardster AND trisail and extended families.. and one with just trisail and his lovely bride and my adoring husband) Three nights of poker. Two of those with PSO'ers...Warm weather...great food. What else could a girl want??

    QUOTE OF THE TRIP:

At some point in the mega rush that Cardster was experiencing, he had so many chips he decided to color up to some $5 red chips. During one point, he said he was only gonna play out that last stack of $1 chips and then we would leave. THEN, he got a hand. He said:
"If you guys see me break out the red chips, get the hell out!"

    LOL Love you guys!

Dang. It sounds like some fun was had. You know, when cardster and trisail actually buy into the correct tourney they can be dangerous.

WTG Janie! Money finishes rock! Of course, keeping the profit is even better, but I guess that is the next lesson  Ring games with PSO'ers is a hard way to profit.

And the Cubbies. I, as usual, hope they kick some butt this year, but I expect that as usual, they will just kick mine.

Nice showing Jane and great report. And you know how hard it is for me to say that since I am SOOOO jealous you had all those AZ boys to yourself.
