My first live event was a big success ! Was not the biggest or for that matter a very important tournament - a 95 player event held by Chicago Charitble Games.

The entry fee was $30 and the blinds moved fairly quickly. After close to an hour and a half we had a break. I turned my 4500 chip starting stack into 2500 chips and was on fumes. Did not get one good hand - saw only one flop with 44. Limped in twice with KQ in early position only to get riased big and fold.

But then like Street Sense in the Kentucky Derby this horse began to move fast. I made final table of 9 players with the 8th biggest stack but still enough chips to be a factor. A combination of several blind steals and some good hands that were called got me to heads up play.

At heads up play we trade chips for a few hands and then with blinds at 30,000/15,000 I looked at two red threes in the big blind. He called and with 60,000 out there on the table I made my move all-in- his A4 beat my pocket pair and I had to settle for second place and a payout of $464.00 !
