  • The Plan - How I will grind MTTs

Won't be re-writing my blog post here, so :

    https://www.pokerschoolonline.com/bl...ill-grind-mtts

This is where I will track my progress, my tricky spots, what I am trying to work on.

Today I have a short session in the afternoon because I referee 2 hockey games tonight. I will therefore be grinding 45man turbos for now.
Trying to work on the 75/150 and 100/200 levels, when stacks are short but antes haven't kicked in yet. Stack sizes are often very tricky at these levels and I often find myself lost.
Ex. what to do when you get AJo on the button with like 14bb, no antes, M would be like 9 or 10. Openshove? Min raise? It depends on the blinds of course, but you get the idea.

Played 6 games, 5x 45 men and 1x 90 men, all turbos, without cashing. Got in a few of these spots I was talking about. Like this : We have KQs from MP, with 13bb (M = 9). What would be our action here? The bb is playing very loose (42/11). This time I chose to shove Or this one : We have 15bb (M = 10). Seat 5 is a massive fish playing 75/0 over 20 hands. This time I raised 2.25x and got the money in good on the flop but player 5 sucked out. Maybe I should have made it 2.5x to leave villain 5 with less than a pot sized bet on the flop. As played, I think shoving was our only play.

As I was watching that last hand, was thinking to myself like, "oh no ... hope the villain doesn't have the 5" - yikes ...

Really interesting hands and an interesting blog Simon - such tricky spots!
