  • Ed's 2NL 6-Max Stack Size Challenge

I am mainly concentrating on my MTT Project - but often only have just one or two MTT tables running, and as I am not earning any FPPs or VPPs from these, being Freerolls and $0.10 tourneys, I am usually playing a single cash table of 6-max on the side, just to stop me acting too frequently on the MTT tables, but also to try to earn the 5FPPs per day average required to get to 150 for the month and access all the PSO content and qualify for the bigger Premier League prizes if I am lucky enough to have a good run in that promotion.

I have played up to 25NL 6-max - but I am quite happy playing 2NL/5NL.

So I am challenging myself to play a single table of 2NL 6-Max - and stay on that table no matter what - to see how big a stack i can build.

I normally join with 100BB - $2.00 - (which is the max at zoom but on regular tables you can start with 250BB or $5.00).

The challenge is to make as large a stack at the table as possible - so that I can practice some very deep stacked play - although the effective stacks are likely to be much shorter.

I will post my biggest stacks here.

So just to set a mark - not very impressive. A $6.00 stack I did start off with $2.00, so not bad - but also illustrates how hard it might be to make a big multiple stack size at these tables - because they do tend to break up pretty quickly when the stack sizes are very uneven. So maybe I should join a table with a really big stacked player already on. I also think I should set a goal - 4x the max buy-in and 10x my regular buy-in - so the challenge is to build a $20 chip stack at a 2NL 6-max table (Everybody has now left this table - I am just sitting out with my $6 on the table - hoping maybe 'easy-seat' will send me some chip-fodder. Still not that impressive - basically just double the max buy-in, which could be done in 1 hand - but from $2 buy-in this took over 500 hands of patient play so my mark is now at a $10.00 stack at 2NL I made the bet perfectly to hit the $10 - but no need to do anything but check back on the river.
