T1 busted 29th of 90, looking to double up with TT against fishy big stack who limp/called 84suited to my 4x preflop raise, and flopped two pairs v my overpair, then shoved over my c-bet and I called. I should have got away from it but I read the opp wrong for the first time here, putting them on Ax having hit their x on the board as they were playing Ace-rags a lot. - plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose - Ed from Edinburgh - EdinFreeMan

Ed, You make an appropriate raise pre and he limp calls you! Let's stop right there and think what that can and should usually be! Small pocket pairs, suited connectors, any broadway from the sounds of it! Lets roll tape. On the flop which hits a tonne of his small pairs and small suited sonnectors you cbet and he jams! Often times you will hear trainers telling you that they do not usually bluff here at these levels.
You even know this is a fold but call it off any way with a 35 deep starting stack! This is burning money and will crush your bankroll in the long run. Discipline and patience my friend.

              Happy New Year Chris -

You are right, I was 'hoping' he was being as fishy as I had seen him play several previous hands that he lucked out on to build his stack, but as I said I should have got away from the jam.

I had put in 1/3rd of my stack by the c-bet (1,236 of 3,650) and if I had folded to the jam would have been left with about 24BBs (2,414 at the 100 level with the next jump to 150 due soon).

I'm pretty sure my skill read on this player is correct - they are very, very bad. However, that is no reason for me to also play badly and hope I am just a bit less bad than them.

I can't even blame a Hogmanay Hangover - woke up feeling brilliant.

              Still learning.....

              Good luck all

Never folding those - just trying to get all the chips in. 3rd game of the day (well the first I started - 3rd to finish) I manage my first cash exit hand fairly standard 12BB shove A9 suited called by 77 - I catch an ace - but the 7 is there too first cash this month (1 of 5) - 5th of 90 for $1.44 puts me very slightly up so far if those aces had held in the other 2 games could have been a nice day - but that's poker good luck all Ed from Edinburgh - EdinFreeMan
