  • My Ahar/Honu Challenge thingy

    Hi all,

This evening I started playing the $0.25 45 mans. my first six games and it went really well. Here are the results:

Tourney Start Roll End Roll Finish Profit
    #457164727 $6.25 $6.00 14 -
    #457226090 $6.00 $6.36 7 0.36
    #457273621 $6.36 $6.11 15 -
    #457264808 $6.11 $8.33 2 2.22
    #457303511 $8.33 $8.08 19 -
    #457311851 $8.08 $11.31 1 3.23

Or at least I thought it went really well because I was basing the table on Ahar's and Honu's results tables and applying the same criteria.

And I believe that there is a big discrepancy in all our figures:

If you look at the second row #457226090 you will note that my staring roll was $6.00 and I won $.036, so my new starting roll for the next game was $6.36.

WRONG, this does not take account of the $0.25 that I paid to enter the tournament, so the new starting roll for the next game should be $6.11.

Now I looked at Ahar's figures for his challenge and as far as I can see he has made the same mistake and does not take account of his stake after winning:

    Finish PnL Roll
    17/45 -$0.25 $4.75
    31/45 -$0.25 $4.50
    25/45 -$0.25 $4.25
    5/45 $0.68 $4.93
    1/45 $2.98 $7.91
    3/45 $1.45 $9.36

I suspect Honu's could be similar since that is where I took my original setup from but I am not 100% certain.

Maybe my Math are wrong, maybe you get your entry fee returned for every SnGo you cash in and if so I apologize but my PS cashier says different.

    Can someone please clarify?

    Cheers,

    TC

OPPS big error; I now see that they are taking the .25 stake off the profit.

    SORRY

It's all good top. This is precisely why i post the way I do see example again here. You should be putting starting bankroll, deducting cost of tourney then adding prize.

      Starting Bankroll - $6.25
      1. 123456789 -.25 1/45 +3.52 current Bankroll - $9.52
      2. 123456790 -.25 16/45 0.00 CB - $9.26
      3. 123456791 -.25 18/45 0.00 CB - $9.01
      4. 123456792 -.25 4/45 +1.40 CB - $10.16
      5. 123456793 -.25 21/90 0.00 CB - $9.91

        Thanks Chris,

This may not be the neatest table in the world but it is the results so far.

So if I am correct, I need to play 100 of these in November. That being the case it looks as if I am going to have to learn to play more than one table at a time. I will update as I go along but start a new thread for the November challenge when it starts.

        Cheers,

        TC

Stacking option is nice the table with next move just pops up makes it really easy.

Great start to the challenge Top The Cat..... umbup: It's a pity that the forum does not allow you to copy and paste a table from Word. I tried and it doesn't work. It would make posts in the forum a lot easier to read, especially for members that want to post their challenge results.

well you need to play about 4 a day right to do 100 in a month so if you play 2 tables at a time should be no problem. Great results so far!

                  Hi folks,

Last six were all no finishes so my bankroll is down to 9.05.

Disappointed with my cards and how I played as well in some spots, you go through one of these card dead and then get it in good, only to be sucked out. I think I should widen my range, but how wide!!! When you have no better than 10, 4 off for 30 hands, you have to pick a spot to run: and yet when you run with Qs you get sucked out by K4.

I am trying to remain disciplined and hopefully the next 6 will be worth posting

                    Hi ToptheCat,

Yes, when you are card dead you will still occasionally have to pick some spots and go. It's a good question though. Bring it up in a Live training session and can discuss. We will likely run into a few of these spots during the course of an hour and we can highlight them to you. But basically if you have been folding the last 20 hands you should have a pretty tight image, when you move in they should probably think you have something. It's all about the position you make the play from and the players left to act. I'm a nit by anyones standards and you'll still see me shoving 82o sometimes in live training .

It's also good to remember that you can't win every game. Sometimes the cards just won't let you. 6 games without a cash may seem like alot after a run of good results, but it won't be the last time it happens to you. This is completely normal variance. (It gets alot worse than this ) Just keep plugging away, you've had a great start. Volume is the only way to beat variance.

As for the results. I scrapped my results from sharkscope. It gives a PnL (Profit and Loss) column this is the prize won minus the entry fee.

That's exactly when you can shove with a garbage hand to pick up a set of blinds.... but you have to time it correctly, when nobody else has a hand... and be in position.

I just had the honour to play the cat in my last .25.
Cat was on my right, and all-inned me (pf) out of a couple of decent hands.
Like the one I said in chat, woulda called with the AK if suited
He did all-in it once too many though

Not that anyone gives a fig, but I made 2nd in that one, the final table was pretty wild, and I didn't get one single pocket pair there. Quite a grind
