Hi players, please bear with me,as it is my first blog.Like most players, even though i have been playing poker for many years i am relatively new to on-line Texas Hold 'Em,for two years i have been "playing" what i believed to be adequate poker. But after signing up for Poker School, and by just following the core basics as set down my game has gone to another level!.Needless to say i am now embracing all couses available,i played in two tournaments today 6/17/2011 and won entry into my target tourneys, one satellite had 90 runners and paid entry down to 6th place,in which i finished 3rd,and the other was a$12,000 SNG in which i finished 16th,the time taken by the Poker Stars pros. in compiling these lessons,is fantastic.By following the simple rules, position, evaluating outs hidden and open, playing tight, and hand value as well as possible max. and minimum pot odds,i know now when i bet the impact one can bring to a table,if you are aware of your hands worth, and can read your oppossition.I realise there will always be bad beats, but if i can continue to progress the way i'm learning, those beats will be a thing of the past, now i get my money in with best hand and hope for the best, many thanks again.Choppers396

Have just started in Poker School, and was wrapped to pass my Basic,Core and SNG courses, had some cash left in another sites account(Full TILT),and deciced to put what i had learnt into place.Played 3 nine table SNG steps tourneys, and am now up to Step4,which enables me to either play in a $69 tourney,or play more Steps, not a bad result for an outlay of $3.30.Many thanks guys, the thing i find i'm getting now is the most important tool in poker and that is INFORMATION!,played tight early when blinds were small, and the tools with which your School supplied, and finished big stack on all my tables. Many Thanks Choppers396.

Played in a local casino MTT,blinds were 15 and 30,early in tourney i was dealt KK,in SB, player in early position went all in, knowing what i do now from the MTT lessons i folded,BB called with pkt.10s and early player showed AQ suited, flop came As,6d,8c turn and river were trash,so As win.Thank you guys any othertime i PUSH all in,and would have been eliminated, even though i got knocked out some time later,at least i was proud i followed your guidlines, again a big Thank You.

After passing my Basic,Core and SNG courses decided to put what i had learned into a $1.10 MTT tourney number 425010257,played very tight early when blinds were small and only ran with premium cards or raised 4 times BB if i was on button and all players had folded.Continuing in this vain after 5 hours found myself 25th of 3404 original entrants, had $650,000 in chips and was 3rd overall in chips big stack had $720,000 and 2nd had $680,000 so it was pretty close.2nd stack had been playing loose and running nearly every hand, i was dealt AKh,blinds were $5 and $10,000,raised to $80,000 and was called by him as he was BB,flop came A,10,K and he raised to $200,000, i pushed all in figuring best he could have was A,10,had followed his play closely, and whenever he had a pkt pr.he would push all in pre-flop when in position,so i didn't think he had a set.Needless to say he turned over QJo,was this a bad beat or should i have played differently.Again thank you for the much needed schooling, would have been knocked out much earlier,if it was'nt for the Poker Stars pros.tips, information is priceless

Played in first PSO skill league, after about 3 hands wondered why, reviewed my lessons first and was looking forward to learning more, what a dope i was only one or two other players used what we had been taught, guys holding AQ in pos. just calling, early stages players raising BB 15 times! and just maniacal play,ok i got knocked out early no sour grapes, but i would have expected more in a so called Skill League.

Playing against donks continually is learning Chopper, this league has many players who just try to spoil it for those who are serious about making the points.A player called link2me is indicative of this type of play he doesnt care if he gets negative points every game his only mission is to antagonise and take out the players who are in the top 100.I personally cant stand him but if I want to play in this league then I have to learn to deal with players like him so there in lies the lesson i have learned to take notes on these players and deal with them in my own way.So good luck and happy learning in the PSO and hope you make the good money.

Very true shuz, lot of facebook players and white stars, who havent got aye clue about skills, they have never played for money,or ever deposited,so they dont care, free roll all the way, nothing to lose, never invested,so to them winning aye hand is there main aim,any 2 will do,more unskilled players than skilled here, dogg gone

The structure to these tourneys is wrong, they should have, skilled league and unskilled league, skilled league,$10 buy in for the month, drop under 1400 points you should be elimnated, unskilled league, freeroll in,drop under 1300 points, your elimnated, something like that, would stop all the donkfish spoilers here, for skilled ranked players at end of month, dogg gone

i agree....it's very frustrating when you've got the best hand initially. i try to figure out why ppl call and to date i haven't figured it out. do they even know they're playing for 1500 free ones?
