Hi NoRiverRager! The first problem with this hand is preflop. There is a limper, so if I want to play the hand (it's too weak to play from this position so I SHOULD be mucking), I need to make a standard raise, which is to 2.2BB+1BB for each limper. I cannot bet smaller than this or I am giving the opps the correct odds to try to outdraw me. If I do so and lose, it's my own fault that I lose the hand. The next problem is on the flop. Yes, I flop a flush draw, but the opp overbets the pot. I have 39.7% pot equity. I have 9 outs to the flush and possibly 6 more outs (to a K or T). Normally in this instance, I discount between half and all of the overcard outs as I can be outkicked. Even if they are all good, I have 15 outs and from the rule of 4 and 2, my outs are worth 2% each to the turn, so my hand is worth 30%. Since the pot equity is higher than my hand equity, I need to fold as I will lose chips on average. This is not a bad beat. It's a hand that is bet poorly and should have been mucked preflop. Good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)
