Sometimes, just sometimes, I wanna smash the monitor, gently.

Hi IBStryp! In the first one, gotta look at the betting. If I've got KK, I cannot min-raise, as this gives the opps the right odds to try to outdraw me. I need to raise to at least 3X the previous bet (1200), but this pot-commits me so I have to shove. By raising small and letting the opp see a J, it's a +EV play for the opp on the flop and if it's +EV for them, they expect to GAIN chips, so they should be in the hand. Good luck at the tables.umbup: John (JWK24)

Hi JWK24, I understand after reviewing the first hand I had to go all in, I was greedy and tried to get more chips in and it backfired. But the guy before me raised 400 and I raised 600, do you mean I should've gone all in at that point, or pre flop? I don't see me min raise.

They raised from 200 to 400 (200). Therefore a min re-raise is adding the same amount (200) to their bet, which is 600.

A standard raise is to 3X their bet (1200).. but since that pot-commits me, I need to shove.

Slowplaying hands normally accomplishes one thing... to get me beat because I give the opp the right odds to outdraw me.. which is why I avoid doing it.

One way to avoid min-raising... never hit the raise button. Always type in the bet that you want to make.
