  • More I Think, more I lose

I've been playing NLH for approx 8 months and more regularly for about 2 months (MTT micro mainly). But since I started studying more of the skills elements on PSO, and thinking about what opponents might be holding, I've been crashing.

I used to be a mild maniac, but now I think I play too passive with the odd moment of tilt madness. This is maybe because I credit others with more skill and so am not as aggressive as I should be.

Is there any technique I can adopt to reduce this mis-placed respect.

A good starting ground would be to identify the type of players you are up against. If you are playing the same mtts at the same time of day you will see the same players coming up regularly so maybe use labels and try to mark players as loose aggressive, tight passive, maniac , etc. Then when you are in hands with them you can use that knowledge before you begin to put them on a range.
