  • First ever Royal Flush!

Playing 2NL this evening, hit 1000 hands for the day and was about to call it a day with a +$5 to my bankroll at 2NL, when literally on the last hand I was planning to play this happened!

    First Ever Royal Flush!

I was so excited! (Unfortunately the guy folded to my next bet, I should have slow played, but never mind haha!)

Wow, bokyaw, flopping the Royal on the flop! Just looked it up....1/650,000 chance of doing that!

Maybe I can flop one if I play another 1 million hands...

Those odds only apply to the chance of flopping a royal flush before you're dealt your cards. i.e. You have a 1/649,740 chance of flopping a royal flush on the very next hand you are dealt, but if you are dealt two suited Broadways, then it's much more likely that you'll flop the nuts. (Obviously it's impossible to flop a royal if your next hand is 72o. )
If you always played two suited Broadways and always went to showdown, then you'd make a royal about once every 35,000 hands. (I've lost count of how many times I've folded QTs and would have made the nuts if I'd stayed in the pot).

I remember posting that about getting AAAA all the time, but that was sarcasm haha!

I actually have no recollection of hitting that royal flush, and it seems like something I would remember! Especially against quads aces! Are you sure it was me?

"I recall you saying something about drinking."

Haha! That DOES sound like me! Also would explain why I don't recall it happening....
