    Fold pre-flop.

Q4o from the SB is going to play terribly, the only flop you can be happy with is flopping two pair of better. You are going to flop 2 pair (a flop of Q4x) 2% of the time, and flop trips 1.3% of the time = 3.3% or ~1 in 30 times. You put 300 into a pot of 3500 and being OOP post flop these are horrible odds. To make it even worse sometimes even when you get your 1 in 30 flop you still don't win, a perfect example is the hand you posted.

What's up ant? Hey man,it's kind of a cooler I guess but NOT a bad beat, you were never ahead in the hand. Barbzz is 100% on point...just let the Q4 go preflop. It's a trash hand that's going to play terrible against the ranges of the opps and, just for kicks, you're OOP as well. Come on man,I KNOW from playing you back in the day that you know better than this. Good to see you post, hope the circumstances for the next one are better for you. umbup:

Mathematically yeah, you're getting a great price to call here.

But...I don't like being OOP,and you DID note the position in your query so it's obviously a factor in your mind as well.

Also,it IS Q4o after all. What can really flop that we'll be happy to see? We actually DO get about as good as we could hope for with the 2 pair and all it does is set us up for the cooler.

Myself ant whenever I was faced with a spot like this, great price but holding a crap hand OOP in a multi-way pot,my thought process was "Don't let your eyes be bigger than your appetite",meaning yeah,I AM getting a great price but the side effect of that great price is an already bloated pot which means that to continue with this hand I have to be prepared to accept that I could very well be playing a hand like Q4o for my stack.

Do I REALLY want to do that?

Hope that helps man,GL out there.
