  • what did i do wrong?

    so i made raise X4 +limp +bb +ante
    should i go all because he had so many chips or because there where call? raise was less than 1/3 my stack( i think so). what shouldI do on that flop? yes, straight draw,but call with 89 or something like that? i counted that he has hight pair or A something small so i don't want to see river so what did just happen? (sory,english isnt my native language)

      It was a standard play, he should of folded for the pot odds you gave him. But yes this stuff happens all the time.

      Why do people join the forum only to post 1 bad beat? I'd say we should put a minimum post limit before you can post in this forum

        Welcome to the forum!! You did nothing wrong, when you shoved you had the best hand. You were just unlucky on the river, nothing you can do about that.

          you didn't do anything wrong. You got your chips in with the best hand.

          You were an 81.3% favorite preflop and a 57.7% favorite after the flop.

          Unfortunately, you hit a hand in the 18.7% pre and 42.3% on the flop. If you put all your chips in preflop, you're going to lose about 1 in 5 of the times this happens... and you hit the 1.

            Welcome to PSO and the forum.

            While the villain's pre-flop call was unwise, he made a correct call on the flop. The pot after per-flop betting stood at T$3280 and you had T$2640 behind and the villain has you covered. You shoved after their minimum opening bet meaning they had to call T$2440 to win T$6120. This gave them 40% equity in the pot. With 13 outs (8 to OESD plus 3 fours and 2 fives) they have 42.2% chance to win. This overlay, even if it is small, makes it a decent call against an over pair.

            This is a situation where neither player made a mistake post-flop. Situations like this happen regularly in big bet poker.

              thx for support, but i think i understood,he call, because i was playing very tight, so he was chip leader and infrot of me if its a small folp
