#1 Q6s is not a call from there, and from that effective.

#4 The good example when you can win with AA.

    #6 A5s also not a call,pre fold.

These all ins are mostly pretty standard from your opponents, they are around of 10bb where you don't have much choice just to all in or fold. Part of the game.

multiple of those hands are played VERY poorly.

Hand 1 - Q6s is a SNAP FOLD. Just because we have an A or suited cards, does not make it playable.

Hand 5 - K5o is a fold. When first into the pot, we raise or fold... open-limping is what losing players do.

Hand 6 - A5s is a shove or fold.. it is NOT a call. Shove unless the first player in is a nit.

Hand 7 - on 12bb, JJ is a shove. it is NOT a limp. Once again, there's a reason for the poker phrase.. Limpers are Losers!

We didn't get screwed over.. we played hands horribly and got what we deserved due to it.

No of course not and that is not what JWK is saying. He is just explaining what you did wrong in these hands. Every situation is different.

Poker is more then just to play 2 cards and win or lose. It's about position , actions before you , actions after you , stack sizes , other players behavior , looking for stealing and bluffing opportunities , discipline folding and sometimes making gut-feeling calls.

But yes it all starts with the 2 cards you get dealt. Those decide if you have a possibility to play or not.

One of the first things I did was to look for a good chart with opening hands. It is a chart that shows you with what hands you can open from what position and how to act if someone raises you.It show you with what hands you should defend or re raise from what position. These charts are just a guideline but if you try these you will find out what works for you and what doesn't. And there is a different between full ring and short handed games. You can find these charts just searching the internet.

If you call an all in with AQ or AK instead of Q6s you less likely make mistake, but overall it's not that simple. Poker is a complex game, and every situation is different. Sometimes it worth to call an all in with Q6s,other times it's not.

Tight is right, and that's what you have to learn firstly. Be patient, choose your starting hand carefully, when you find it and you are the first to act, never limp. Raise 2-3 bb. Observe your opponents,be aware of your position & stack sizes every time.

                  KhoalWhynot

When the effective stack sizes gets shorter, especially at say 12bb or under, the entire game comes down to knowing what ranges of hands we can shove with and what hands we can call a shove with. The hands we can play vary with each and every seat at the table and also change with our stack size (the ranges change every 0.5bb).

We want to be tight and aggressive when we do play hands, but once we get down to a resteal stack (say 13-20bb) we want to find spots to shove over an opener and when we are say at 12bb or under, we want to shove, when we do want to play a hand.

The times where we want to call preflop, is IF someone has already opened and the stacks are deep enough that we can profitably setmine (we need 15x the amount we need to call, available to win, to do so) or we can call behind in a family pot with a hand that can flop well (76s as an example). Other than those types of spots, we want to be raising and not calling.

                  John (JWK24)

P.S. The short stacked tourneys, are going to be won in the longterm, by the players that know the shove/fold charts and apply them the best. Anyone can get lucky in them once in a while, but those players won't be longterm winners.

take some time out maybe get a hud do some study invest...im not good at moment but now the football season has finished once I catch up on a few things im going to be studying and especially in areas where I feel I can improve the most so im starting on continuation betting ...im no expert just hope it helps ....oh and pick a game you like and just play that game so for example if 6max cash is your thing only play that until your a proven winner at that game....as low bankroll avoid hypers and turbos ...i dont like cash games so i only play tournaments...it is possible to build up from freerolls as I did it but it is time consuming so you need patience (plus there has been less freerolls recently) but there has been a lo t of promotions recently too. I had a 5 week bad luck stretch a couple of year sago was ridciulous but you have to think about poker in the long term good luck

It's not due to your terrible luck... it's due to your bad plays. Until you fix all of those, it will happen over and over and over and over. If you want to be any good at the game, you need to stop blaming everyone else and fix your mistakes.
