Now the most discussed strategy that people use in this league is the stalling technique. Not the normal "We are getting close to the bubble" stalling either. Full blown 20 second every turn stalling from start to finish. It is horribly annoying to many players to find one of these types of players at their table. Why? Because they take away a few hands that they might get to see? A good poker player should be playing no more than 20% of hands dealt. So this running of the clock should not effect anyone's potential to play hands. Usually it is the players that play nearly any two cards dealt to them that are annoyed by this strategy the most. And typically they run themselves out of the tournament fairly quickly anyway so their opinion matters little. Myself, I try to see some hands when the blinds are cheap and as the blinds go up, I start to run more time off the clock. I refer to this as "Dripping to the money". Anyway who argues that people who burn up the clock in this league are bad poker players should stop what they are doing right now, go call Comcast, and cancel your internet service. This is a league where your finish position is THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS! If you are quickly throwing your chips into the pot every hand you want to play, you will not finish in the top 10. Watch those people in the top 10 play. They might not be running time off the clock all the time, but watch how they change all that when they become short stacked with 700 people remaining. They use the time that Pokerstars has alotted to everyone to help them get a better finish position. If you fail to see the advantage that using the time provides you, then you need to join another league. You don't need 100,000 chips every tourey to win this league. You just need 1 chip when you pop the bubble. Drip...drip...drip.... More to come later.....
