For me there are several things I look for when I get ready to play a tourney

How much is the Buy-in? (you should never play an event that will hurt your bankroll)
Can I afford to play this event?

The structure;
Length of the rounds,
this is one of the most important things I look for in a tourney as some do very well with longer rounds as it tends to let more skill players not be forced to play bingo as others do much better in turbo rounds, knowing what is best for you is gonna help you become a winning player

They start at 10/20 or 25/50, ?
How much do they jump?
Do they double every round or do they progress slowly?
Starting chips, 1500, 3k, 5k or 10k?

Is there an overlay?
(overlay means the event has a GTD so if it like 5k and only enough players get in to make 4k the site has to put up the other 1k ) this is a big + for me and should be for any one

How many players are in the field?
How long will this event run?
Do I have that kind of time to focus on nothing but winning this event?

How many places going to pay?
…is this a tight 10% of the field pay out or a looser 20% pay out

Is this a 6, 8, 9, or 10 seat per table event?
as every player has stronger and weaker points so short handed play is better for some then others

There is so much one should be asking them self's before they Join that next tourney and most don't even think twice about it they just click join

These were just some Questions to ask when you getting ready to play your next tourney….Picking the event that works best for you is a major factor in how well you will do in the long run

So what do you look for in a tourney? add your comments please

One thing to always remember
There is so much more to playing Poker besides the CARDS were dealt

May the Felt stay soft, and the Chips Pile High
