Confession #6 - Just when I think I know what I'm doing, I discover I don't I was starting to go over the steps needed to create my action plan and then realized, there are actually some things to consider before I move forward. How can you create a plan to improve your game if you don't first identify the following two key points; 1) The first key point is this... "What makes a good poker player?" While there may be a few "rare" players out there that have raw talent, or natural ability, the truth is that most of us don't. Once we come to the realization that we need to work on our games, we can then move forward. If you aren't the poker savant that you think you are, then you need to understand that playing winning poker is a combination of many elements; math, science, knowledge, psychology, luck, skill, practice, practice, retool, and practice some more. 2) The second key point is this... " What are your leaks or weaknesses?" Nobody likes to admit that there are leaks or holes in their game, especially not the donkey. But the simple fact is that we all have weaknesses or leaks that we are susceptible to and both finding and fixing those leaks are an important part of being a winning player. It's also extremely important to continuously analyze your game so that new leaks can be quickly discovered and old leaks have less of a chance of reemerging. These are the two key points that I need to identify before I can truly move to the next level. So I'm going to first work on these points and will put it down on paper for you in my next two or maybe three blogs. Thanks for reading and critiques, criticism, epiphanies, or just plain comments are more than welcome. Till next time, Ric, AkA Punky159
