Due to work and single dad issues, I haven't been able to play as much as I have wanted to, and I think I'm going to have to restart some of the General CoS before I move forward in my poker playing. The good news (I think) is that I'm told my work schedule is now going to be more stable (at least for a little while). I will be working the day schedule and I'll have Saturday's and Sunday's off starting in March. I haven't had a weekend off in almost 9 years, so this is gonna be unusual. The bad news is that I'm well behind in my New Year's goals, but I think I might have enough time to get back on track and accomplish most of them, if not all. Here's an update on the 10 goals form a previous blog. Goal 1. Get in better shape, so that I can be more comfortable sitting down at a poker table for an extended tournament. (So far I've dropped a few pounds, but nothing spectacular. I'm still a loveable, huggable 280.) Goal 2. Be more consistent in the PSO sattelite leagues each month and take first place in either League 1 or 2 at least 3 to 5 times this year at a minimum. (yah, not doing so well here, but it's still early) Goal 3. Work on my patience and discipline when playing poker. (yeesh, got a lot of work to do) Goal 4. Be consistently in the top 10 in the Gold League. (ditto number 2 and 3) Goal 5. Successfully complete both the General and NLHE CoS sometime in the middle of the year. (may have to push this back a bit and have the general done by middle of year and NLHE near the end of year) Goal 6. Play in one live event tournament by December. (April is gonna take care of this one) Goal 7. Memorize the poker math that I need in order to help my game. (working on it) Goal 8. Improve my Monthly PSO ranking to the high 60's/low 70's. (need a lot of work here) Goal 9. Put my ego in check and be nicer at the poker tables regardless of how bad the beat. (I'm getting closer to being nicer, but some people make this one very tough to accomplish) Goal 10. By years end, be a consistent player in each of the poker disciplines that I enjoy. Omaha, Stud, Razz, Limit, and No Limit Hold'em, so that I can be one of the best H.O.R.S.E players at PSO (We'll see). Laters, and see you at the tables. Ric
