Overall, September was a pretty successful month for me. I know the areas in which I still need to improve, and of course I have been done by some pretty bad beats this month, but that's all a part of the game.

In the Open Skill League, I unfortunately finished short of the top 500. However, my finishing position of 683rd was my highest to date, also earning me $0.50. Also, I came pretty close to earning a Big Bang ticket, with two consecutive top 400 finishes, but in the third game I could only muster a 910th place finish. Close, but no proverbial cigar! Also worthy of mention, as included in my previous blog, I final-tabled a OSL event for the first time this month!

In the BankrollMob freerolls, I have made a few cashes this month, including two back-to-back cashes for $0.05 and $0.10 respectively. We are entering the final month of the three-month league, and if I can make a few good cashes with a final table or two thrown in, I just may sneak into the top 200 at the end of the month to quaify for the big freeroll they offer.

In the Redtooth live poker pub league here in the UK, we are entering the final month of Season 3 for 2013. I currently occupy play-off positions in both pubs where I participate, winning once in the Sunday game and getting back-to-back second place finishes on the Tuesday game. With 4 weeks left, I'm hoping to secure an automatic qualifying place for the regional finals, but it will be pretty tricky. I'm actually off to play the Tuesday game tonight, so wish me luck!

So, the goals for October include:

- Hopefully grind the $0.50 up a bit by playing the $0.10 360 players NLHE Turbo events

- Finish in the top 500 of the Open Skill League

- Finish in the top 200 of the PokerStars BankrollMob freeroll league

- Qualify for the regional finals of the Redtooth Pub League

- Qualify for the Big Bang Freeroll

- Win a freeroll tournament

It's a long shot, but if I can achieve at least one of these things in October, I can call it a successful month.

Good luck at the tables!
