Total amount won by world number 20 chess player, Pentala Harikrishna of India, Laurent Fressinet of France, and Gabriel Sargissian of Armenia, who tied for first place at the PokerStars-sponsored International Chess Tournament, which took place on the Isle of Man from October 3-11. Harikrishna was awarded the Masters title on a tie break, while English players Nigel Short and David Howell finished joint fourth, in what turned out to be the strongest open chess tournament held in the British Isles. Jovanka Houska won the Ladies’ event, taking home the top prize of £3,000.

Second Chance Freeroll prize pool up for grabs for players who participate in the International Poker Open Dublin Main Event, which runs from October 21-26. The Isle of Man International Chess Tournament, co-sponsored by PokerStars, came to an end on Monday after nine days of intense competition. The Masters section was the strongest open chess tournament ever to be held in the British Isles and was won by Pentala Harikrishna of India, the world number 20. He finished on 7 points from nine games, level with Laurent Fressinet of France and Gabriel Sargissian of Armenia, but won the title on a tiebreak.

PokerStars recently teamed up with Men’s health charity, Prostate Cancer UK, to help raise money and awareness for prostate cancer.
