PokerStars announced details of its 100 Billion Hands Celebration yesterday, which will see a massive $5 million given away to players across five weeks of ring game, tournament, and Sit & Go promotions.

SCOOP 2013
The Spring Championship of Online Poker 2013 finished earlier this week, setting a new record as the richest online tournament festival ever with more than $75 million awarded to players, and the largest poker festival ever with 132 tournaments.

Rafa Serves an Ace
PokerStars ambassador Rafa Nadal warmed up for Roland Garros in Paris last weekend with a Zoom Poker tournament featuring 200 players, rather than the customary tennis knock-up. EPT Barcelona Satellites
EPT Season 10 was recently announced, with the first of eight stops taking place in Barcelona this coming August. The good news is that players can already qualify for the first event online. A range of satellites are now under way, starting from just €1.10. LAPT Colombia
The Latin American Poker Tour heads to Colombia next week for the LAPT Colombia National Poker Championship, which takes place at the Casino Allegre, Medellin, from June 5-9. The series comprises six events, including the COP 1,800,000 + 200,000 (approx US $1,000 total) Main Event, which is a re-entry event with two Day 1s. There is also a COP 5,500,000 + 50,000 (approx US $3,000 total) High Roller re-entry event on June 9.

APPT Macau
The Asia Pacific Poker Tour is just two weeks away from touching down in Macau for the third event of Season 7. It will take place at the ‘PokerStars LIVE at the City of Dreams’ poker room and incorporate 11 different events, including a HKD $6,000,000 guaranteed Main Event, which has a HKD $25,000 buy-in and takes place from June 12-16. There is also a $100,000 High Rollers tournament that takes place June 15-16.

ANZPT Melbourne
The penultimate stop of Australia New Zealand Poker Tour Season 5 is coming to a close in Melbourne this weekend. The first ever ANZPT Repechage festival features a total of ten events, with the AU $1,100 Main Event now well under way, featuring a guaranteed prize pool of $750k. Saturday sees Flight 3 take place, before the tournament players combine for the official Day 2 on Sunday ahead of the final table on Monday.

Eureka 3 Dubrovnik
The second event of Eureka Poker Tour Season 3 took place in Dubrovnik, Croatia during the course of the past week. A total of 12 events squeezed into seven days offered something for everyone, but the primary focus was on the €1,100 Main Event, which finished on Wednesday. The winner was Achilles Bozso, who took the €59,100 first prize after doing a deal with Boris Kuzmanovic heads-up.

VIP Club Live Returns
Four more VIP Club Live events have been announced, with events scheduled to take place in Vancouver (July 13), Berlin (August 24), Sao Paulo (October 26) and London (November 23). These parties – exclusive to PokerStars VIPs – feature a free bar and food, games, prizes and the chance to mingle with Team PokerStars Pros, fellow players, and senior PokerStars staff like Head of Poker Communications Lee Jones.

Liv Boeree Runs in Aid of Cancer Research UK
Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree is supporting Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life by running in the 10k Race for Life event on June 1 in Clapham, London. She is aiming to raise £10,000 in sponsorship through her JustGiving page: http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/livboeree.

Her run will be followed by an online charity tournament at 15.00 ET with a $5 + $5 buy-in ($5 to the prize pool, $5 donated to Cancer Research UK). The tournament will be listed in PokerStars’ tourney lobby as ‘Liv Boeree’s CRUK Race for Life tournament’.

Liv’s tournament starts off a week of fundraising tournaments from June 1-9. The tournaments are sponsored by PokerStars’ new Helping Hands charity programme and will be open to all PokerStars players who wish to support Cancer Research UK’s work to help beat all 200 types of cancer.
