Here's a quick roundup of some of the PokerStars related events happening around the world this week.

Sunday Million Winner

Nick ‘gbmantis’ Niergarth topped a field of 7,861 players in the most recent Sunday Million to take down a career best score of just over $235,000. It was his third Sunday Million final table, having come third in 2007 and fourth in 2006. He has also made final tables in WCOOP and SCOOP events, with his previous biggest cash coming in the 2008 WCOOP High Roller event where fifth place paid $179,750. SCOOP 2013

The official schedule for the fifth annual Spring Championship of Online Poker has now been announced and online satellites are under way. This year’s festival will take place from May 12-26 and incorporate 44 events (132 tournaments) spread across low, medium and high stakes buy-in levels, making it the largest poker festival ever held.

There is $40 million in guaranteed prizes and the festival will culminate in the Main Event, which will have buy-ins of $109 (L), $1,050 (M) and $10,300 (H) respectively. Other highlights include two Zoom tournaments, new 5 Card Omaha, 5 Card Omaha Hi/Lo and Courchevel game variants, along with a Heads-Up High Roller tourney that features buy-ins of $215, $2,100 and $21,000.

The beauty of SCOOP, though, is that the three-tiered buy-in system makes it a fun and accessible festival for players of all abilities and bankroll levels. The lowest buy-in is just $5.50, and with satellites starting from just $0.11 or even 1 FPP, it is one of the most inclusive online festivals around.
