I have not played Poker that much since the Micros - even though I cashed in a few of the events I played in, I knew my game had to be tweeked.  I have been struggling with evolving my game and decided to take a break from MTTs. (However, I did try Cash Tables to see if maybe that is where I would excel instead of MTTs)....
Anyway, after Micros, I went and studied some online tournament vids, attended some of the PSO Live Training Sessions, and even watched some of the PokerStars.tv  "Everything Poker" tutorials..
Well today (August 11 2012), I played in my 1st big tournament (player wise) since Micros.  I jumped on PokerStars and into a "$1.10 NLH 6mx 3K GTD" along w 3238 other players.  After 6/7 hours of grinding (term fits?), I placed 6th (final table) out of 3239 players.  I almost doubled up against another short stack >  in late position (btn I think) I bet all in preflop with KhJh, small blind called me (another shortstack) w Ah9h (ofcourse player woke up w hand) - I turned K high str8 then the sb rvrd A high str8 and knocked me out of tourney ...I got my hand in bad and I was lucky on turn, only to be deflated by river...But "That's Poker" right?!.....
Even though I got knocked out, my finish gave me the affirmation I needed as a poker player because after Micros I have been struggling with evolving my game, learning to strengthen my weaknesses, and trusting my gut/reads....
I am not surprised or impressed by my finish - just content that all the work I have put into my game since the Micros has paid off - more confident in my game!
New goal - taking a 1st in a huge MTT (1000+)!!!!
PS: for those of you who may be struggling with your game - Never give up, Know your mistakes and  learn from them, and Practice Practice Practice!!!
Best of Luck at the Tables players
