You grew up being told that "Girls don't play Cards". Let me say that I am now in my 60's, and over the past 2 or 3 years, I have taken a real interest in learning to play cards and especially Texas Holdem.

I have watched Poker Shows, such as WSOP on TV for a few years, and it was all geek to me! My hubby is a pretty good card player, and tried to teach me a few times, but, I guess being told that Girls don't play cards, was a block of some sort. I just could NOT make heads or tails out of anything.

We would go to friends houses and everyone would be playing Poker, or Spades, or even Euchre. I just tried to sit and try to make sense of what was going on!

I finally tried to learn at least Texas Holdem by wayching and I actually started to make sence out of what was going on! So, when I found games on Facebook like WSOP, I tried to learn by actually playing all on my own!

Please don't ask me how, other that copying what I saw others do, I have about 13 Million on my WSOP game! (I am really proud of that, if I do say so! Now, yes, 13 Mil isn't alot to some, but to me it is a whole lot!

We have a Roku streaming box, and I found Poker Central one night!  I couldn't sleep due to my Arthritis, and was sitting up and must have watched about 5 hours of Poker After Dark. It was just getting light out when I finally go so sleepy I just had to go to bed. The next day, in the afternoon, I went on to WSOP and played and suddenly things were making sense! I was actually winning some hands! The next night, after hubby went to bed, I sat and watched some other program, I think it was High Roller Cash Game, but don't quote me. Durring the show, there was a Commercial for PokerStars. I got on the Computer and that is how I found the Poker School!

I am going throigh the Lessons, sometimes for 2 or 3 times until I think I have the understanding, and then I just try putting it into practice on a few games!  I am learning and having fun that I missed for a lot of years of just watching other people play!

My one dream would be to meet some of the guys who play in the big games!
