another month in pso and the gods have not been kind.... I can sympathize, although I see alot of complaints about the callers we get, when after hands of patient play, u finally get a tier 1 hand too play and AA looses to QJ off K2 off etc..But normally, 80% normally, u have gotten your chips in good, and that should console you as u watch them side over too a bingo betty having fun at the freeroll.
But the true secret behind a donkeys success is this...9 hands are delt and 1 wins...And although we think its the same donkeys over and over its just a new one each time.
Donkeys DO NOT consider positional play in their strategy..RCF players-raise check fold...
Donkeys DO NOT care what a check reraise from a tight solid player means...he must be bluffing
Donkeys DO NOT size bets correctly...I hope everyone folds...
Donkeys DO NOT like those who use the decision clock to their advantage...this game is boring
Donkeys DO NOT like to make decisions post flop...that means thinking...
Donkeys DO NOT fold...that button has been broke for awhile...
So how do we compete with donkeys...
-avoid the early stages of "WHEN DONKEYS COLLIDE"..the best hand in poker is the one you dont play.
-use your decision clock wisely and liberally...wait for the complaints about how slow you are to make a decision about just two cards...if league poker is boring to them maybe they will find somewhere else to ply their bingo skills. Most good live players wont even look at their cards until its their turn to act-avoiding preacting in their head before they have all the info available to them-position,hand strength, pot size, blind size, limpers, raisers ..etc
-dont put them allin. Bet at them with solid hands so they have to make decisions -its the last thing they want to do-think.
-continue to inform them of the league objectives to make better poker players out of them-maybe even convert some into actual poker players.
-avoid the overwhelming urge to call them donkeys-they are sometimes your best customer-and thank them for their chips when your hand does hold up.
-take notes on their play ..hehe..I have a pair allin...I have an ace allin..these two cards were lucky yesterday allin...etc
Most of all take courage in the fact that your aim is to improve your game and to move onwards and upwards towards the profitable, YES I said it" profitable", poker career u deserve.
See you at the tables and good luck to you all.
THE JUSTMAN....
