HI gang, I just wanted to share some of the really good things about poker that has really helped me in life. I think this is important for poker, and the way people may look at poker.

here is how I found poker.  I got interested in poker just as a way to kill time about 3 years ago. I have a lot of down time at work and it was a nice way to pass the time. For those of you that don't know I am a Firefighter/Paramedic, so after truck checks, and cleaning the station if there are no calls we can pretty much do what we want at work.

When I first started I was the biggest fish you ever played against. After being called a donkey and a fish at the tables a bunch of times, I decided to learn to play. I read up on it, but still in hindsight made some pretty bad plays, and lost some money. Then black friday and I didn't play for the longest time, I ressumed poker in April of 2012. I was still a losing player, but now I knew enough to go on tilt, and that really hurt. I would insult the other players and when they argued back it just made me go on super tilt. Then I found pso and man I learned fast, great instruction, and the mellow way they talked. I really took a lot out of the classes and I became a different person.

So how did poker chang my life? for one now if somebody is trying to sell me something I do the math, ask what it is going to cost me in the long run. So I make better financial decisions. That is not the main reason though. I used to be pretty hot headed. I mean if somebody in a bar would say "what are you looking at" my answer would be "I don't  know how many guesses do I get" and I would fight at the drop of a hat. I got into some pretty serious fights over some pretty stupid reasons. who knows poker might have saved my life. Now I just laugh and walk away.

I honestly believe that poker has made me a better person! I hope it does the same for you!
