Last night I grinded it out at my local casino's $40 NLHE table. I was up to about $145 or so in about 10 minutes because of the aggressive play from half the players there. There was a guy out there with about $120 basically moving all-in in pretty much most of his hands. I can sometimes understand doing that preflop and when you're on the blinds but this guy was just going crazy and even if he checked the flop, then get raised, he would call with anything. Well anyway we left pretty quickly and things settled down but not that much. I 3-bet with pocket 6s and got called by like 4 other players!!  It was ridiculous! Fortunately my set came on the river but with two spades which kind of worried me. Good thing it was like 6-7-2 so nothing else really to worry about. I pushed all-in I didn't want to get too greedy and since I was the bettor preflop I figured someone was going to call me. And he did. 1 player called me. The bad news was..  came on the river so by then I was really sweating it. By then my sets were useless and I completed my flush with one of my 6s being .

From there things slowed down a lot. Its really hard to raise preflop with anything that might be slightly good because you will most likely get called. Another time i got pocket QUEENS on the cutoff thinking..wow this is a great position to be in. But suddenly the player to my right pushes all in with about 30 something dollars. Keep in mind that the pot is empty right now with only $3. And I look to my left and the player on the button is like ready to pull the trigger and call him. Now I know I'm going into a coin toss but come on..who's gonna lay down pocket queens preflop?! Anywho I call him and the button also goes all in with about 40 dollars. One player has pocket tens and the other has .:-?
Although I'm still favorite. not by much. I hate this spot...

Lo and behold his Ace comes for that one player and he pockets a good $100. Now I'm back to around $60. I grinded it out some more and finally get something worth playing... . I call a $6 raise and it turns into a 3 player game. the flop goes . I'm thinking cool. I got the nuts for sure right now. Again in middle position I get a raiser who goes all in. Again I turn to my side and the same player is practically ready to pull the trigger and call him. I'm thinking oh no not again!! But I call anyway.. so this guy goes all in. I call. Everybody is in now. And the turn shows a  . Now I know I'm in trouble. So much for the nuts. The same guy wins again..this time he shows pocket Queens. I don't know if I played it wrong. If there was any way to play it any better...how else could I have played it...

I'm starting to think its much harded to win money on those $40 table than it is to win some. Or maybe Im missing something. Gotta keep working at it...
