Just want to write a short blog on the importance of taking breaks and why they have helped me. This month poker has taken a back seat to quite a few different things...

Last week or two my play was suffering badly. In MTT's I could not concentrate for more than an hour before making a brutal mistake or a string of errors that led to my busts. In HU I would go on auto-pilot for a large part of my session. I would get to the tables feeling tired or just playing because I felt like I had to. After losing money for a week I realized I wasn't having fun, and needed a break. I didn't play for  maybe two weeks. Now, I feel much more refreshed and ready to get back to the tables. I will be able to play my A game and should have taken a rest much earlier.

Whether you're tilted or disinterested, taking a break is one of the easiest and efficient ways to get back to your best game.
