Well, depending on the scoring for the last tourney I played (not posted yet) I may have already reached my goal! WOW! If not, I am VERY close!

I have one more game to go tonight and depending on how it goes I will decide whether to set a new goal for this month or just wait till next month and play the entire month like I did the last 3 days! LOL

SO, this really does make me wonder about next month...

BUT I will try VERY HARD not to get ahead of myself! A good run does not equal anything but that, a GOOD RUN! It is hard to remember that in poker... HOWEVER, it brings me to a VERY good point that I always need to remind myself about... VARIANCE!

*SIGHS* What a cruel mistress poker is! You are cruising right along and doing pretty fairly, playing well, and then, out of NOWHERE, the poker gods decide to FK U UP!  We have all been there... to be sure... everytime you hear someone scream about suck out this, or rigged that.. you know one thing, VARIANCE IS REAL! And to be a profitable poker player you have to be able to survive bad runs and NOT let them affect your play... because the ONLY way to survive variance is consistency over time...

The PROBLEM lies in the consistency part... at least it does for me... When I start losing I start to question myself and my strategy... and then.. I LOSE MY GAME! TRUST ME, it is HARD to get back...

I think the same thing happens when you play tooooo many freerolls... So this brings me full circle, back to where I started from, so to speak. I had gotten into some VERY bad habits here, and elsewhere,  and although I seem to be back on track now, we shall see how my new and improved strategy fairs against the dreaded variance!

And so I go, VARIANCE AND ALL!!!
