Calling on Principle is when you call the large bet or all in of an opponent, in the firm belief that they have little or nothing and you think they are trying to "buy the pot," even though you have little yourself. Aside from the fact, your hunch may be totally wrong, even if it isn't, by calling on principle you will often find yourself calling a large or all in river bet with AK, AQ or AJ even though you may only have Ace High. Quite simple, this is very poor poker. If you don't have a hand good enough to call a big raise with, then simply fold it. Ace High rarely wins on the River. You probably should not have chased that far anyway. Wait and punish the repeated bluffer-stealer by trapping them in later hands.
