PokerStars School (PSS): Tell us a little bit about yourself?
MacDaddy19830: My name is John McCarthy, and I'm from Colchester, Essex in the United Kingdom.
PSS: How do you feel now that you have won a Platinum Pass ticket to the PSPC?
MacDaddy19830: It is unbelievable, I still can't believe that it was me who won it. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity which I plan to make the most of and enjoy as much as possible.
PSS: How long have you been playing poker?
MacDaddy19830: I have been playing poker for around 12 years now but very much a casual player. It's only in recent months that I've really been taking it seriously.
PSS: When did you join PokerStars School and what do you like most about it?
MacDaddy19830: I joined PokerStars and the School only a few months ago and have been playing quite a lot since then. There are a huge amount of tournaments/cash/sit & go's for all levels and fantastic giveaways. I also love PokerStars School and I've learnt a lot from the articles and videos here.
PSS: Would you like to get some coaching from one of our trainers before jetting off to the Bahamas? What would you most like to learn about?
MacDaddy19830: I absolutely would take any coaching/advice available before the tournament. I have been predominately an online player and played live only a handful of times so some coaching on playing live, strategy... some of the mathematics etc would be great.
PSS: At the PSPC you will get to keep 50% of any winnings, with the other 50% going into a tournament for everyone who played in the final satellite. What's your strategic plan for the tournament?
MacDaddy19830: At the moment my main aim is to enjoy the experience as much as possible and not put too much pressure on myself otherwise it probably won't go well. I will probably play quite conservatively, to begin with, and try to get a feel for the environment & players and once comfortable try to open up a little more.
PSS: Who will you take along with you to the Bahamas?
MacDaddy19830: At the moment I am still trying to nail this one down. It could just be me, or some close family & friends, they will have to make up their minds soon.
