COMMUNITY NEWS - February 2014
In this February edition of Community News, coming to you this month from the colourful tropical island of Bali in Indonesia (oh, the joys of working online!), we'll be putting the spotlight on some recent big winners here at PokerStars School and pointing out interesting promotions that you should catch if you can. Ok, let's get cracking!

You'll likely know Gareth "GarethC23" Chantler as one of our friendly team of Live Trainers here at PokerStars School and we were all thrilled to see him hit a near-6-figure payout in one of the early Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP) events on PokerStars recently. You can read the PSO news article here, check out the results in detail on this page, and read a detailed account of the game here by our modest ace reporter, umm, Gareth!

PokerStars School has always given its members the opportunity to win big without making big investments and one of the best ways to get involved is our monthly leagues. Let's just take a look at the top prizes members won in January:

In the Open League we had  if_u_wana_do  from Ukraine with 2790 points taking the first prize of $1,500, closely followed by cguzmangti75 from Guatamala on 2779 points pocketing $1,000, then in third place there was barmik597, also from Ukraine, with 2764 points and enjoying prize money of $750.

In the Premier League it was Kevich-_- 0$ from the Russian Federation who came out on top with 2081 points and earned $5,000 while Ukranian silk2012 with 2055 points benefitted to the tune of $3,350 for second place, and another Russian member wslyusarw with 2043 points won $2,500 in third position.

If you want to get involved in the excitement that is the closely-fought League competitions simply read up on how the two leagues work and make that commitment to give it your all - it could be you topping the leaderboards at the end of February!

I was just browsing through the many wonderful blogs from our members and I came across this excellent effort from Sentras. I thought it made a great read and I found it quite inspirational. Well done Sentras! If you fancy trying your hand at writing a blog of your own it's really easy to do so why not make the effort today!

Check out the unique Live Training Sessions offered at PokerStars School.

Live Training is a unique learning experience where members can watch as a trainer discusses hands, situations, and concepts in real time. Trainers may play live on PokerStars, use the replayer to select prior played hands specifically targeted towards the topic of the session, or present theory or concept classes. Members who participate in the chat box can ask the trainer questions and get feedback live in real time.

For more information and to see the next scheduled training sessions visit the Live Training section of the PSO web site today!

We're just reaching the climax of the current big promo from PokerStars, the TCOOP. There's still time to qualify for the remaining big tourneys from low-cost satellites or, if you have the bankroll, you can of course buy in directly and save yourself some effort. Best of luck!

Poker Schools own promotion is a great one to get involved in -  the Big Bang $5,000 Guaranteed tourney runs on the 2nd Saturday of this month and there are three ways to qualify - find out here which way suits you best!

May all your poker decisions this month be the right ones - see you next month!
