PokerStars School: Tell us a little about yourself, what's your background, where do you come from, age, job etc...
AlexBlefer: My name is Alexander and I live in Mladenovac, a city next to Belgrade, Serbia. I am 42-years-old and a master of economics in a private faculty.
PokerStars School: How did you get into poker?
AlexBlefer: Even as a kid I had an interest in the game. I can remember back when I was sixteen playing PLO. Now I play online on PokerStars and also live at the local casino in Belgrade where they have tournaments and cash games.
PokerStars School: You won a Bounty Tournament, tell us about this, was it easy or hard?
AlexBlefer: It was difficult, and the amazing thing is that I was actually down to one big blind at one stage. I was lucky though, I managed to survive and claw my way back into the game, eventually winning it.
PokerStars School: What is your favourite format? Is it tournaments, sit & go's, cash games, or spin & go's?
AlexBlefer: I like a lot of formats, 6-max turbos, cash games, but my favourite by far is the Bounty Builder knockouts. Even if you don't win then you still have a chance to win back some of your buy-ins by defeating opponents. It's an exciting format to play.
PokerStars School: Do you follow a strategy when you play poker? Sort of like a checklist while you play?
AlexBlefer: Yes, I always pay attention and am aware of what is happening at the table. I'm patient in picking the right spots to get involved and always aware of my position at the table. I think these things are key to a successful player.
PokerStars School: Which poker player would you most aspire to play like and why?
AlexBlefer: One of my favourite players is Daniel Negreanu. He is a very entertaining player and humorous at the table, making poker fun. His poker mind though is second to none, he's a very clever player and never seems to be under pressure.
PokerStars School: In what way has the School helped you improve your poker game?
AlexBlefer: The poker school here has really helped me to get a firm grasp of the fundamental rules of the game helping me to become a better player. The articles here are a very useful resource to any player looking to improve their poker game.
PokerStars School: What tips or advice would you recommend to other players just starting off?
